We may not have the sleep thing down around here {far from it}, but we do have a bedtime routine. It’s a time of day all three of us have come to love. After getting dried off from a wild and crazy bath splash fest, it’s book time.
I’ve always loved reading and I hope Kabes will too. I especially love watching the husband read to our little boy because he himself hates to read, but for our son, he will.
Seventh Generation recently teamed up with the release of the new Lorax movie and was kind enough to send along a package of their Free & Clear diapers and copy of the book. I love that their diapers are chlorine-free and don’t contain fragrance, petroleum-based lotions or latex. Not things I want on my baby’s bum. Unfortunately our heavy wetter goes through these like it’s his job. Perhaps their new overnight diaper would be a better match for us. {Yes, we’re still using cloth diapers. It’s nice to have a couple go-to disposables on hand for trips to grandma’s, etc.}
As for the book, he LOVES it. Ok, ok, I love it. But recently he’s started paying attention to colors and within the past week, the bright pages have gotten him super excited during story time.
I read The Lorax often growing up, but I’d forgotten most of the story. The first time we read it together it brought back so many memories. The husband had never read it though and it’s hysterical watching him stumble through the imaginary world of thneads and truffulas and bar-ba-loots.
Now I need to see the movie! Have you seen it?
Want to win a package of Seventh Generation Free & Clear diapers and copy of The Lorax?! Leave a comment with your favorite children’s book. I’ll pick a winner at random tonight.

As a kid I loved “Green Eggs and Ham” and as a grown up, The Lorax is my current favorite – the message is so pertinent right now. I hope to raise my son to appreciate nature in the way the book suggests.
