Baby SoS: 5 Weeks

by tinysneakers

baby 5 weeks old

Look at you, you didn’t scream at the camera! {Until the next picture…}

We’re still trying to figure you out. It’s been a tiring week, but we’ve also had a lot of fun.

cool baby

Only cool kids go to the doctor. {And no, that’s not pee on the table. Seriously.}

On your 1 month birthday we celebrated by going to our first yoga class. You did great! You only cried a little but no one cared since there was a room full of other babies. I can’t wait to take you back and see what you continue to think of it.

We also ran errands together for the first time since daddy was at work and couldn’t stay home with you. We picked up some things from the Junior League house {I had to run out 30 minutes into a board meeting last week since you were giving your dad a hard time for not having boobs and we hadn’t started bottles yet}. Then we headed to the grocery store. While I shopped somewhat haphazardly, you fell asleep in your wrap. You got hungry while we were out so you had to eat in the car; not the most comfortable situation but it’s nice knowing we don’t have to run home every hour or two so you can eat.

baby at grandma's house

This week was full of firsts for you- we took you to your grandparents’ house for dinner for the first time. The way you looked at their cat makes me worry for it’s future as you get older. Winking smile

You also took a bottle for the first time! Daddy gave it to you while I was away so you wouldn’t get confused. You sucked it down so fast you were still hungry when I got home. You did better the next time, when I was gone all day at a meeting. I fed you, went to my meeting, dad gave you a bottle that you sucked down like a champ. Then I came home for a little while in the middle of the meeting, fed you, went back to the meeting, and you took another bottle from dad. It’s no surprise to anyone that you were still hungry when I got home again! {Breastfeeding can make things a little complicated…but oh so worth it.}

You’re still not sleeping much. You made it 4 hours between feeds one time one night, a big change from your normal 1 or 2. You just wanted to prove to us you could do it- not that you will do it.

Proof that you can make it through a bath without screaming. {Until dad shoots you with the sprayer…} Maybe you’ll be my little swimmer after all!

baby bathtime

This is a pretty typical scene for us these days…note the hairdryer. If you saw a picture of me you’d know in seconds that it’s not being used for any kind of beauty regimen. Winking smile

It was a big week of firsts for all of us. We’re still completely lost as far as having a routine goes, but getting on with normal life as best as we can is what keeps us sane!

The time is going by so fast! My baby is 6 months old today and I can’t even remember what it was like at 5 weeks! I still haven’t taken our son to the grocery store so props to you on that one!
