Baby SoS: 11 Weeks

by tinysneakers

Hi bug,

11 week baby

You have magically morphed into a completely different baby this week.

It happened almost overnight. You were mad. Screaming. Cranky. Hurting.

And then you were happy. Awake. Alert. Smiling.

Something good came from my trip {although I hated every minute of being away from you}. You drank bottles of breast milk and my supply regulated, meaning you started getting those good fats you need to fill your belly and help your brain development.

And developing you are! You went from hating tummy time to dabbling in rolling over. Yup. Rolling.

You don’t really like looking at things or grabbing or swatting, but you suddenly started pushing yourself up on your arms. Then one day you decided you were just going to roll on over. You only do it on soft surfaces like our ottoman or a soft, squishy blanket, but it still counts. We better watch out!

I love, love, love listening to your little voice. Your coos and squeaks are the best sound in the world. So much better than that awful crying you loved to do a couple weeks ago.

Our days are much happier now- you’re even napping more. You still refuse to nap anywhere but my arms. It’s frustrating to not be able to get anything done, but I’m soaking up every minute of our cuddly naps. Who knows, tomorrow you may refuse to sleep in my arms at all.

All this happiness and alertness must be wearing you out, as we seem to be making backwards progress at night. You’re barely sleeping 2 hours at a time; sometimes only 1. Needless to say your mom’s a little tired. But things change so fast these days, who knows what’ll happen next week.

I’m just glad you’re starting to feel better and can finally enjoy being an adorable little baby. Smile

Oh my! Look at how cute he is…love the expressive face. He’s giving Sawyer (1 week older) a run for his money with all of his capabilites — my lil bean still can’t push himself up on his arms because he hates tummy time so much.

Way to go bug 🙂

I would’ve said the same thing about K a few days before he did it! Just goes to show they do things whenever they feel like it– he’s rolling but still has no idea he has hands haha.

Yay for happy babies! My boy is just 4.5 weeks but also will not nap anywhere but my arms. Draining, tiring and means not alot gets done during the day. I have found that he loves sleeping in our Mini Monkey sling, still against me and with me but I can be hands free, cook dinner, type on the computer (like now!) and generally just get some things done. Maybe give it a try?
Then again, you’re right… there will be a day when our boys are super independent and won’t want to be cradled in our arms, close to us. We must savour these moments (just not 24/7!).
