33 Weeks & Kickboxing Practice

by tinysneakers

For as much as I thought the first weeks of pregnancy were the same monotonous morning sickness over and over again, things really did change pretty rapidly then. Now that we’re nearing the homestretch, things seem to stay fairly consistent over the weeks, with only tiny changes sneaking up on me here and there. The only real change from week to week {more like day to day} is waking up each morning and seeing my belly grow even bigger seemingly overnight.

What Baby’s Up To

baby at 33 weeks

Baby’s surpassed the 4 pound, 17 inch mark and his or her skin is starting to smooth out and the skeleton is hardening. With baby taking up so much room, there’s not much space left for amniotic fluid, which would explain the audible crack you can hear when baby kicks my ribs. Yeah, ouch.

Pregnancy Rundown

Sleep: I’m nearing the end of sleeping on my stomach- sometimes it’s comfortable, sometimes it’s not. Usually a pillow tucked under my knee takes enough of the weight off my stomach to let it be comfortable…for now.

Baby movement: Poor baby has hiccups all.the.time. I feel so bad- I can’t use any of my hold your breath or drink a glass of water upside down tricks to relieve them. There’s not much rolling going on anymore- I’m guessing there’s not much room left for that. But that kicks- oh my- still so strong. Soccer player? Dancer? MMA fighter? High jumper?

Heart rate: 145 at last week’s appointment

Maternity clothes: Finallllllly found some that seem to fit right after endless searching and multiple white flags waved. Of course now I can’t decide whether it’s worth it or not since I’ll only need them a few more weeks…

Belly button: Almost flat

3rd trimester pregnant belly

Classes attended: 3! Breastfeeding and Birth & Baby- hospital tour included.

What I miss: Getting up without rolling to the side first

Days til next appointment: 9 –> I get to meet the final midwife in my practice

Countdown: 7 weeks.

Nursery progress: Ummmm…

Depends on what your definition of a nursery’s purpose is…Winking smile

I love your belly…you are a beautiful pregnant one. However, I think my favorite part of this post is the picture of the little one’s crib!

Looking good! I can’t believe you were able to lay on your stomach for so long! And I promise, those hiccups are more painful to listen to outside the womb! I hate not being able to console my little girl when she gets them and they make her so mad!

Whew, that baby jumped a size! Looking gorgeous, as always 🙂 Glad to hear/read that you’re feeling good, too! (aside from a possible cracked rib? Yeowch.)

i canNOT believe you are on your stomach!!!!! i am seriously amazed; i haven’t been able to do that for months (and i soooo miss it). i guess in part i haven’t tried out of fear of ‘squishing’ her, but it just doesn’t seem like an option 🙂 looking amazing and i’m so excited to find out what you’re having and meet the little one — SOON now!

I asked my midwife 394,494 times about sleeping on my stomach before I believed it was ok- and thank goodness, because it’s the ONLY way I get any sleep! 🙂

You are looking so fabulous! Such a cute little belly! Sure do wish mine was that small! I love baby hiccups! They are kind of annoying but it means their lungs & diaphragm are working the way they should!!!

That is one heck of a growth spurt- wow!! You’re getting close to the home straight- so exciting 🙂

Really one week of growth only?! Wow! But you look healthy, happy, and glowing 🙂 thanks for keeping us updated! And don’t worry, the nursery will come together – it’s a busy time of year!

Jamie @ FoodinRealLife December 16, 2011 at 1:28 pm

I love the nursery update- made me LOL 🙂 And it’s actually refreshing because mine isn’t done either. This is a crazy busy time of year to be pregnant- we’re barely home on weekends so nothing gets done! Did you install a carseat in your car yet? I have to do that.

Oh and I meant to say that my little one has hiccups all the time too. I feel guilty because they drive me nuts!

I just wanted to say that I am exactly where you are!
I’m also 33 weeks, I’ve been to 3 birth classes and baby safety, and I have all your symptoms. I enjoyed reading this and completely understanding how you feel.
