23 Weeks & Growing

by tinysneakers

Hard to believe another week has already gone by. I’m glad they’re going quickly but I’m going to miss being pregnant if it keeps going so fast. {Remind me of that later when I’m begging for this baby to come out already.}

What Baby’s Up To

Baby’s almost a foot long and a bit more than a pound- that’s pretty big considering where we started! I can tell the baby’s enjoying all the room in there {for now}- kicking and tossing and turning all over the place. I love the feeling of the baby moving, although now that it’s getting to be more and more, sometimes it’s just a little bit creepy feeling. But for the most part, I love the little reminders that someone’s there.

How I’m Feeling

23 weeks   23 week baby bump

Aside from a few moments this week that have harshly reminded me of the first trimester, I feel pretty good this week. I’m constantly amazed by how much energy the littlest things take, and I’m eager to do as much as possible before it really gets hard. I’m starting to understand why pregnant women do that awkward roll-to-the-side-waddle movement to stand up. Your abs don’t exactly work very well when they’re stretched out beyond belief.

Best Moments of the Week

Feeling the baby kick –really kick- all over the place. I can’t fall asleep sometimes because I don’t want to miss it.

Getting the nursery painted. Well, almost painted. I still need to recruit the husband for some taping help. *cough, cough* husband…

Odds ‘n Ends

Apparently having a baby anytime around the holidays is rather inconvenient for some people…like the hospital and the childbirth classes. I noticed there weren’t that many classes available during the time we would need to take them, so I went ahead and signed up for a couple that looked like they were filling up, like the hospital tour and breastfeeding.

What I’m Looking Forward To

Next week’s midwife appointment! There’s nothing particularly exciting happening at this one, but every appointment is exciting to me. This time I get to meet with the unofficial “head” midwife, so I’m brainstorming as many questions as possible to throw at her.

What are good questions to ask a midwife/doctor? Is there something I’m “supposed” to be asking?

This is FOR SURE going to be creepy and weird, but I feel like you should take these pictures in a unitard. Get on that. I want the full experience. You know, in that I live too far away and feel like I’m missing EVERYTHING sort of way and only in a mildly creepy sort of way.

So the only problem with that is then there would be a picture of me in a unitard on the internet. And if I owned a unitard, then we’d really have a problem.

At 37 weeks with an approximately 7 lb child inside, trust me that you’ll want those last few weeks to go by quickly! 🙂

You continue to look great! I know you don’t know sex of the baby, but our birthing center makes you decide before labor if you’ll circumcize or not. I had to tell my midwife today at my 30 week appointment what are plans were. I was just surprised because this seemed early to me!

Oo thanks for the heads up. That’s so strange they need to know so early, I wonder why?
