Fun

Can we say irony? Fitness fail.

Don’t you dare burn an extra calorie walking up those stairs!
Ok, ok, I’ve posted that picture before. But it’s my absolute favorite and it always gives me a laugh {and a sigh}.
My close second top contender? This guy:

Here are a few more of my favorites to hopefully give you a mid-week chuckle:

Check out #7. No sweating allowed.

Don’t show my husband that picture. He’ll get ideas.

An extra bonus deal for you math savvy gym-goers.

That pretty much explains half the football team.

Really?
That one reminds me of the gym I went to in high school- I would always, without fail, end up on the treadmill behind the guy in the “I run on Dunkin Donuts” shirt.

Happens more than I’d like to imagine, I’m sure.

I had to throw in a food one. Just jeez. They must be confused as to what the word “beat” means.
Be sure to check out my update on tiny sneakers: I’m 26 weeks pregnant already!
Travel
There’s no rule this blog has to be about food, right?
Because although I am sitting here eating a bowl of hazelnut latte oatmeal, I didn’t take a picture of it and I’m not blogging about the ins and outs of what’s in the bowl.
See, the problem with playing with a new camera is that you take bajillions of pictures. And then you have to download them, look at them, sort through the thousands of bad ones, and attempt to pluck a good one out of the batch.
Only I don’t really call that a problem. Just time consuming. And a new obsession.:)
(I promise this won’t turn into a photography blog, but humor me while I play with my much awaited toy.)
On my way home from the Carrabba’s event yesterday, I passed a beautiful sight: Childress Vineyards. My all time favorite vineyard.

I know having a “favorite vineyard” sounds kind of strange, but I solely blame this place on my high standards for judging wineries.

Actually, I blame this place on my love of wine, period.

So naturally when I drove by, I pulled over for a mini photo shoot.

(Although I was tempted, I did not have a private wine tasting party.)

Wine: it’s not just for drinking. It’s for collecting bottles too. (Ok, it’s just for drinking. ;))

Wait. Childress, you have a Malbec? Why haven’t I tried this? Malbec is my favorite red!

I could get lost here. This is, by far, the most gorgeous property I’ve ever been on.

Have you ever toured a vineyard? What did you think?
Race
Here’s some pictures that didn’t make it into my recap.
Some pictures from the race site the day before:

USA National Baseball Training field at Thomas Brooks Park.

Amber & Kirsten “practicing”.

My motto.

Me at the starting line.

Amber and I the day before the race.
Race day pictures:

These ladies were cute in their matching pink shirts- they all held hands to cross the finish line.

I caught this a little late but the back of their shirts said “Shake”, “’N Bake”, and “That just happened”. That gave me a good laugh 🙂
And some pictures from the newspaper:

Half & Full race start.

Beginning of the race before it got to the trail.

Medals for the half marathon!
Official race photos aren’t up yet—I hope there’s some good ones. Or at least really funny bad ones 🙂
