Holidays
I suppose since I can officially see December on my calendar it’s time to embrace the holiday season. It took the course of several days, but our tree is finally up & decorated, and most of our household decorations are up.
I’ll be honest, not everything made the cut this year- chasing an almost-walking baby away from breakables and enticing, sparkly, pullable things just isn’t really my idea of holiday fun.
Nonetheless, it’s time for some of my tried & true holiday favorites to start making their appearances.
First up: Sugar Plum Spice Tea, aka holiday in a toasty warm mug. Forget Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride {I do not understand the widespread appeal of that nastiness}. Warning: not gluten free. Yup, glutened tea.
Next up: Evergreen room spray. The only thing that makes an artificial Christmas tree semi-acceptable. I spray it approximately 800 times a day.
Coffee & cute reusable mugs: ok, this isn’t seasonal…but necessary and eagerly welcomed on a daily basis.
Green smoothies: not seasonal either, but gotta counteract all those holiday treats with some power packed nutrients, right?
All things fleece. Blankets, pullovers, and of course, baby goodies. The best.
Notebooks/Journals. Because let’s be honest, my brain isn’t remembering anything on its own any time soon. And there’s LOTS to remember this holiday season!
What are your seasonal favorites?
Review
Some things I’ve been lovely lately, with no necessary rhyme or reason:

Chocolate almond milk in coffee. {Bonus: a sprinkle of cinnamon in coffee grounds before brewing makes it especially awesome.}

Craisins in breakfast quinoa.

Luna Bar’s Peanut Honey Pretzel flavor. Sweet. Salty. Peanut buttery. The perfect combo.

Stumbling upon a hidden freezer stash of my vegan millionaire’s shortbread: chocolate-y, caramel-y, salt-y goodness.

The Manduka Lyrics tank– the softest workout tank I’ve ever put on. LOVE. I love that it’s not clingy- sweat + shirt stuck me = yuck. The only downside is the white’s a tad see through. {The company was kind enough to give this to me. Check out their great workout tees and tanks plus oodles of yoga accessories.}

Hanging out with my bloggie bestie for the afternoon last week! Allie is awesome. Too bad we met after she moved away from NC!

This fabulous message about loving your body for what it is…and believing it!

Products
Friday Favorites
For the record, aside from a few select products, I tend to loathe anything B&BW. Especially if it’s called Sweet Pea or Sun-Ripened Raspberry. I don’t need to be haunted by visions of middle school, thanks.
One exception? Mentha Lip Shine. Cinnamon, Spearmint, Tint, you name it, I love it. The original was my gateway drug. My addiction was sealed when I discovered Spearmint. When I switch to spearmint it officially means fall has arrived.
If you think I’m kidding about my addiction, this is just what I grabbed from my drawer, purses and bags not included.

If you love me, you will not notify me of this year’s new flavors. {Cough, cough, I’m talking to you blackberry & peach.}
Artisana Almond Butter
I KNOW. You can probably find it in writing in more than one occasion on this blog that I solemnly swore I would never pay $11 for a jar of nut butter. And then I got a jar with a giftcard to iHerb and I literally ate my words.

Please do not tell the husband how insanely delicious this is, or I will never get to enjoy a spoonful again. $11/jar = gold. Translation: Let it be known that I am not willing to share.
Pulverized whey protein and crazy processed who-knows-whats don’t so much appeal to me. Sunwarrior is raw & vegan and the vanilla flavor is delicious.

Shinedown

This has nothing to do with anything. I just love Shinedown. Old Shinedown more than new Shinedown. Any band that can get more than 2 songs on my all time favorite songs list is a-okay in my book. {45, Simple Man, & What a Shame, for the record.}
I Heart Radio

Since we’re talking music, the I Heart Radio app is the best technological invention ever. Because I do, in fact, heart radio. It lets me listen to my 2 favorite radio stations without the 2 to 6 hour drive. {DC 101 & 106.5 The End} And no, I don’t have a smart phone, but I do have an iPod Touch.

No, I won’t give you the recipe. YET.
Just know anything drizzled in honey is delicious.
