I know pumpkin gets to be the star of the fall show, but aside from pancakes and cream cheese, I’m really not all that into it. Apples, on the other hand, I can’t get enough of. I’m still sad we didn’t make it apple picking this year.

Even though I didn’t leave an orchard with bushels of apples to bring home, I’m still obsessed with this forgotten fall fruit in every shape and form – from apple butter to hot paninis, cider cinnamon rolls to savory salads and marinades.

Here are 13 great apple recipes to get your meal-making wheels turning for the season. From tasty treats to healthy eats, here you go!

Workout Gear
I beg and wish and hope for cooler weather and then when it comes I go in to complete shock and pull on a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie and call it a day.
It’s a really hot look, I tell you.
I’m making a {slight} effort to keep things pulled together this year yet still be comfortable, especially because not only do I live in my workout gear, I’m actually seen in public wearing it.

Adidas’ cold weather gear fits the bill: you can look sporty instead of scrubby, yet still be just as comfortable.
It’s not quite cold enough for these yet but I love the fleece lining of these Climawarm+ tights. I can’t wait for the bitter cold morning runs that will require these pants.

The boyfriend-style Ultimate Crew Fleece Sweatshirt is even more comfortable than my hoodie and it has thumbholes, the greatest sportswear innovation of all time. Well, at least top 10.

How do you make it all happen: comfort, worth, and stay sporty when the temperatures start to drop?

Training
Now that it’s officially fall, the old “swim suit body” as motivation really goes out the window (not that I was a fan of it before). So now what? Let’s drop the outward motivation and instead focus on what makes us feel good.
This month I shared 7 things that make me feel powerful on the adidas women’s training site. Here’s a sneak peek:
- Look the part –> wear clothes that are comfortable, functional, and make you feel good about yourself. Love this RainShine jacket for chilly or drizzly mornings.

- Strength train. –> what’s the best way to feel strong? BE strong.

- Prepare for anything. –> you never know what the weather will be like, so be ready for whatever comes your way.

- Eat right. –> Put good stuff in; feel good inside and out. Easy peasy.
- Hydrate. –> Drink up!

- Try new things. –> hot yoga? Cross-fit? Spin? Kickboxing? Reach out of your comfort zone, you’ll be amazed at the boost it gives you.

Roundups
Finally! It’s here!
The cool weather. 🙂
It’s 60 degrees and sunny and the Kynado and I just got back from a long, barefoot walk around the neighborhood, steaming mug of coffee in hand.{For me, not him.}
KB just finished his first full week of school {they only go 2 hours the 1st week} and while I’ve nowhere near caught up, I can see an end to this madness in sight.
Maybe one day I’ll even get around to posting an actual recipe here again…
For now, here are some of my favorite pieces from Babble from the last 2 weeks:
– Homemade versions of 8 of your favorite after school snacks.
– 11 disgusting things you’ll find in fast food
– 7 health benefits of eating dirt. yup, dirt.

– 15 things no one told me about weaning
– Take the 30 day challenge: 30 days to a better, stronger you!

In other news, there’s just a few days left to enter the giveaway for the programmable special edition K65 Keurig single cup brewer. I’m obsessed. {Hence the steaming mug of coffee in hand earlier.}
Happy weekend. 🙂
Workout Gear
Ok, ok, I know I said I’d stop wishing summer away in the hopes of an early fall, but I can’t help having autumn on my mind. I can’t help it if I just have an unhealthy relationship with hoodies, sweats, and fall-scented candles. In the theme of hoodies and sweats, I shared some of my favorite fall gear from adidas on the Women’s Training site. {Pretty soon you’re going to hear me yearning for winter… don’t say I didn’t warn you.} While you can read my whole list on adidas.com, I had to share my top pick from the list. The Springblade Running Shoe.
These shoes are crazy. They look futuristic, nuts, and awesome at the same time. The Springblade uses 16 highly responsive blades designed to help propel you forward and provide explosive energy. Exactly what you need to shoot for a fall race PR. I’m biased, as I think fall is the best time for running…now if only my toe would hurry up and heal already! These shoes just came out on August 1, so they’re hot off the shelves. Doesn’t it always feel good to have something brand-spanking new?
I’m also a pretty big fan of these 3 inch boy shorts. I know shorts don’t top the list of “fall” gear, but it’s still warm in the gym and I don’t usually have time to change right after a workout. As soon as the sweat dries, I get chilled. With these shorts I can slip my Boyfriend sweats right over without looking like I’m wearing a bunch of bulky layers.
