12 Succulent Summer Drinks

summer drinks

It’s hard to believe it’s pretty much just now officially summer considering it’s been well over 90 for at least the past few weeks. But let’s face – July really means “summer” is already almost half over. Time to embrace summer full on if you haven’t already. July around here means not only the 4th of July, but the husband’s birthday and our annual family beach trip with my in-laws. Lots of reasons to celebrate and what’s the best way to celebrate? With a refreshing summer spritzer. Be it alcoholic or not, there’s nothing better than something decadent poured over lots of ice. That to me just screams summer vacation and relaxation.

I’ve put together a collection on Foodie showcasing twelve fabulous beverages to indulge in this summer, from iced coffee to green juices to marvelous cocktails, of course.

The D’s of December: Desserts & Drinks

It’s the time of year when both desserts and drinks are high on the priority list. The holidays are a time of celebrations, special occasions, and indulgent treats. Just because traditional drinks and cocktails aren’t too high on my priority list this year, doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of other fun, festive drink ideas to go around.

To help brainstorm some alternative drink and dessert combos, I turned to the latest and greatest source of inspiration: Pinterest.

Check out some of my favorite desserts and drinks for the holiday season: {click images for source}

How to Fake Mexican Hot Chocolate in 2 Minutes or Less

Cold, wintery, snowed-in days just scream hot chocolate.

But the best kind of hot chocolate? Spicy, cinnamon-y, Mexican hot chocolate.

Sure, you can pull out the double-boiler, melt some chocolate, stir in milk, etc, etc.

Or you can just use a packet of instant hot chocolate or cocoa powder and jazz it up a bit.

Instant hot chocolate {or cocoa powder + sweetener} + cayenne pepper + cinnamon = delish.

{yeah, that’s totally Polar Express hot chocolate. I know you’re jealous.}

Super Speedy Mexican Hot Chocolate

1. Fill mug with ~6oz water. Put in microwave for 1 minute 50 sec.

2. Stir in hot chocolate mix.

3. Sprinkle with cinnamon and cayenne pepper. {Amount varies according to taste. I like a lot of spice- it has to cover that horrible chocolate flavor. Winking smile}

4. Drink!

All it’s missing is some mini fake marshmallows…..

Not a hot chocolate or spice fan? Other favorite cold winter drinks:

Homemade Peppermint Latte
