Not Just Another Day…
Feed baby. Play and make funny faces. Put baby to sleep.
Feed baby. Play. Sleep.
Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
{Except not so much on the sleep part.}
That’s pretty much how my days go now. Except for one day in March.
One day where I just, you know, flew to LA to shoot a video.
A video for Subaru. {And before I forget, go enter to win an All-New 2012 Subaru Impreza by going to FirstCarStory.com and clicking on the vehicle in the bottom right-hand corner.}
I had so much fun getting a behind the scenes peek at how these things come together. The number of takes and amount of footage that was filmed in order to come up with all the right pieces to put a clip together that conveyed the right message in the right way.
I can only imagine how many hours and hours of footage the production crew had to weed through to find enough non-awkward segments on my part. ![]()
And I can only imagine how many hours and hours and hours of footage it takes to put together a longer commercial, tv show, or movie.
Have I mentioned before I would love to get a glimpse at how a tv show comes together? Random side story: I have a friend who lived in LA last summer and just so happened to have the chance to witness Rules of Engagement being filmed. Did you know Patrick Warburton is like 10 feet tall? This coming from my 7 foot friend. Anyway, one of the actresses was sick, so they filmed all the scenes without her, then went back and added her clips in after another shoot. You’d never know watching the show how it was filmed and pieced together.
Ok tangent over. What I’m putting off by rambling on is the end piece from my adventure in LA. My Subaru video is done!
It is completely awkward and weird and strange and embarrassing to watch yourself in video form. This coming from someone who thinks it’s embarrassing to hear herself on an answering machine. Well, back when we had answering machines…
Again, anyways. Here it is. My First Car Story video!
Everyone loved their first car. No matter how beat up or broken down, it was a taste of freedom and you loved it. Even though it lasted only for a brief time, that emotional connection is an experience that unites us all. Check out my custom illustrated story, you can submit one too at www.firstcarstory.com and bring your story to life with animation and music and share it with your friends.
Let the laughing commence.
In all seriousness, as awkward as I feel about this, I had such a blast taking on this adventure, working with the production and film crew, and meeting the gang behind Glam, who I previously only knew through email. I love putting faces to names, and it just reaffirms that I feel great about my partnership with the Glam Media folks.
