Here’s a sneak peak at the topic for one of my posts for adidas. You can see my July feature live on the women’s training site {click “see Heather’s Style”.}

There are people that love the heat and sun of summer and then there are people that love the biting cold and snow that winter brings. I’m neither of those people. Give me fall or spring any day and I’m a happy girl.

But it’s not fall yet, is it? The next 6 days of 90 degree heat in the forecast tell me it’s not. The sweat dripping down my forehead the minute I step outside seems to confirm that as well.

So although fall is near, it’s not quite here. That means we still need to be smart about exercising in the heat. You can read more on adidas’ women’s training site, but here are a few pointers for staying safe in the heat as we navigate through these last few weeks of summer:

Be picky about fabric. I love the ClimaLite technology of the adidas TechFit line, which helps keep you cool and dry. Added mesh panels to things like the TechFit sports bra and the TechFit Tank help even more. The tank is a great top for the heat. Not only is it light and breathable, its racerback style adds a little feminity- so you can still feel good even though you’re slathered in perspiration.

Don’t worry about showing some skin {as long as you wear sunscreen}! Sometimes it’s just too hot for extra clothes, no matter how light or loose fitting they are. There’s nothing wrong with heading out on a run in your sports bra, as long as you’re keeping things appropriate. The TechFit Molded Cup Bra keeps things covered adequately in front, uses compression for support, and has a mesh back to let air flow.

And last but definitely not least, drink up! Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Before, during, and after your workout.
