Truffula Fruits & Bar-ba-loot Suits {Giveaway!}

by tinysneakers

We may not have the sleep thing down around here {far from it}, but we do have a bedtime routine. It’s a time of day all three of us have come to love. After getting dried off from a wild and crazy bath splash fest, it’s book time.

baby reading the lorax

I’ve always loved reading and I hope Kabes will too. I especially love watching the husband read to our little boy because he himself hates to read, but for our son, he will.

Seventh Generation recently teamed up with the release of the new Lorax movie and was kind enough to send along a package of their Free & Clear diapers and copy of the book. I love that their diapers are chlorine-free and don’t contain fragrance, petroleum-based lotions or latex. Not things I want on my baby’s bum. Unfortunately our heavy wetter goes through these like it’s his job. Perhaps their new overnight diaper would be a better match for us. {Yes, we’re still using cloth diapers. It’s nice to have a couple go-to disposables on hand for trips to grandma’s, etc.}

As for the book, he LOVES it. Ok, ok, I love it. But recently he’s started paying attention to colors and within the past week, the bright pages have gotten him super excited during story time.

I read The Lorax often growing up, but I’d forgotten most of the story. The first time we read it together it brought back so many memories. The husband had never read it though and it’s hysterical watching him stumble through the imaginary world of thneads and truffulas and bar-ba-loots.

Now I need to see the movie! Have you seen it?

He is just too cute!!

My favorite children’s books growing up were the Berenstain Bears. I’m 32 weeks pregnant now and hoping to find a big box set of the series for my little one! Everything Dr. Seuss was a close second!

The Little Brute Family is my favorite. I checked it out from the library in 1987 and I still have it 🙂 I look forward to reading to my 9-month old son every night!

My favorite book growing up was “Go, Dog, Go!” by Dr. Seuss. And now I get to read it to my almost 3 month old. Hope he grows to love dogs and reading as much as his mom and dad do.

As a kid I loved “Green Eggs and Ham” and as a grown up, The Lorax is my current favorite – the message is so pertinent right now. I hope to raise my son to appreciate nature in the way the book suggests.

I took my Special Ed classroom to see the movie and the LOVED it! (So did I!)

“One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” – my all time favorite. Oh, and “Pat the Bunny” with that fake touchable fur page.
