Now on to the fun stuff: toys & beyond!
0-6 months is a really broad range, but babies are so different. It’s hard to narrow it down any further. Here’s the stuff we loved when he was littler, let’s say 0-6 months. We still play with most of these things on a daily basis at 10 months, so really you could say for the 1st year.

In true baby fashion, KB would rather play with a toilet paper roll, receipt, or plastic bowl than any toy I could buy, but sometimes the bright colored ones that make a racket are just more fun. Winking smile

0-6 Month Favorites

1. O Ball with Rattle This was one of the few toys we had that was light weight enough for KB to grasp early on. The big holes are perfect for little fingers to slip through and latch on, even before they really know they’re holding anything. I love the version with the little rattles. {I actually bought this as a gift, it fell out of the bag in my car, and one day I let K play with it in the car as a desperate attempt to entertain and he fell in love. I kept it.}

2. Plastic Links File these under “toy” and “functional”. Easy for tiny fingers to grasp and perfect for attaching things to car seats, strollers, and activity mats.

3. Lamaze Play & Grow Giraffe This was one of the first toys KB really loved. The shape is perfect for lying on an infants belly, letting them grasp the skinny neck. The legs are all different textures/noise makers, which thoroughly delights the tiniest of tiny ones.

4. Fisher Price Activity Mat We used this for tummy time {there’s a little mirror} and for encouraging Kabes to use his arms. The little cat sings a song when he hits it just right. I love that it’s small and doesn’t take up gobs of space.

5. Vulli Teether Chan Pie Gnon. KB LOVES this little guy. It’s the infamous Sophie’s little brother. Something about that rubber texture: it’s like baby crack. Plus he squeaks with just a little shake, meaning even K can make it happen.

6. Wooden Blocks Blocks, blocks, blocks. Blocks of any kind. They’re lightweight and indestructible. Perfect for banging, throwing, stacking, and knocking over.

7. Rainforest Jumperoo I think the official age recommendation for this is a little older, but we got it around 3 or 4 months and I’d never seen such delight. from early on KB loved to stand and bounce, and this let him go wild. As long as you don’t leave the babe in there for hours on end, I don’t see a problem with using bouncers and jumpers.

8. Lamaze Elephant Tunes Makes all kind of sounds and plays music- such a baby calmer!

9. Lamaze My First Aquarium Toy The little stuffed animals in this aquarium are the perfect size for tiny hands. He’s obsessed with the little fishy.

10. Bright Starts Barbell Rattle Small, lightweight, and just twisty enough for tiny hands to hold and shake.

11. Sophie Teether It wouldn’t be a “baby stuff” list without good old Sophie the Giraffe listed. We don’t have one of these, but I’ve heard nothing but great things about this teether. One of the things that makes this one stand out is the way the legs are shaped- perfect for reaching those pesky molars that take forever to come in.
