It’s no secret I’m a snacker. Not a strategy that works for everyone, but it’s the only way I’ll make it through the day without turning into a raging beast of hunger. {Ok, the husband will be the first to tell you that even snacking doesn’t tame that beast some days.}
Well having a baby has a way of making even the easiest of easy tasks seemingly impossible. Like actually having snacks in my pantry. Grocery store? Planning in advance? Staying on top of things? Food prep? Yeah, those things don’t happen on a regular basis.
Even when those things do happen, there are times where the kitchen feels so close yet so far away. Like when I’m on the couch nursing for an hour and can’t go grab a snack. When someone is too cranky to be put down for me to fix a snack. When the babe falls asleep on the way home from daycare and I’m stuck in the driveway not willing to wake him from his much needed slumber.
Well I consider it somewhat serendipitous that as I sat in the driveway starving on Tuesday waiting for the bug to wake up, the mailman showed up with this:
My very own box of snacks. A gift from NatureBox.
And not junky snacks. The easiest snacks to get your hands on tends to be crap. These were not crap. {Hey, tiny hands off my snacks baby!}
One minute I was contemplating gnawing my arm off and the next I had 5 bags of healthy snacks to choose from. No high fructose corn syrup, no trans fat, no artificial sweeteners, colors, or flavorings. Much better than the half-eaten box of cereal that usually sits on the passenger seat in my car.
NatureBox sends a monthly box of these health-packed snacks to your doorstep.
So what makes them different than one of those other box-delivery companies? All the snacks are handpicked and nutritionist approved. {Yay}. But the best part? For every box sent, NatureBox sends a meal to one of the 14 million hungry children in America. That’s an awful number, but with do-good companies like NatureBox stepping in, that number can slowly but surely be diminished.
Free bonus in the box: fun for baby too. {Not fun for momma to clean up.}
This month’s box was immunity themed: delicious snacks packed with antioxidants.
In the box:
- Sticks ‘n Stones Mix
- Cherry Berry Granola
- Blueberry Almond Bites
- Sun-dried California Apricots
- Antioxidant Boost Mix
You can see previous months’ boxes on their site.
My box arrived just 2 days ago and already I have bags stashed throughout the house: one on the couch, one by the makeshift side table in the nursery, one in my car, and one by computer. The other has soybean oil in it so I suppose I’ll be kind and share that bag with the husband. {Because I’m a nice person- not because I can’t eat it.
}
So now you know the secret of my latest food obsession. If you want to try it out for yourself you can use code BERRY for 25% off your 1st box on a month-to-month subscription {or 1 box free with 6 months or 3 free for 12 months}. You can cancel or pause your subscription at anytime.

I’ve heard so many good things about Nature Box- I’d love to try it sometime. Love those adorable baby fingers in your photo- that happens to me often, too.

I have yet to look at the cost but what is your opinion on the value – I buy higher quality foods/snacks so am used to higher prices but what is your thoughts on overall price/value for what you get?
I think it’s a great value, especially when it comes to trying new things. There’s usually 15-20 servings per box and each box is $19.95 (free shipping), so a little more than $1 a serving. I definitely eat more than 1 serving at a time, but it’s still cheaper than the bulk bins where I’d normally try stuff like that. Some bags are smaller than others, but it all evens out. This month the bag of granola seemed small to me but the bag of apricots was huge.
