My brain has turned its back on me.

Not only do I have no idea how to recreate these delicious dishes, I haven’t the slightest clue where my recipe notes are.

Mom, I officially apologize for all the times I rolled my eyes and complained that you already told me something 1,000 times. Looks like it comes with the territory.

Guess it’s time to return to the drawing board test kitchen.

I have an old composition book I write all my recipe notes in. It’s obvious which notebook it is, because it’s swollen to about twice the regular size due to the pages being crinkled after being splattered with all kinds of kitchen liquids…

I have a notebook that stays in the kitchen next to the stove – which is where I take notes while cooking. Then it gets transferred to recipage as soon as it’s refined and ready to share. My hubby has even gotten used to making notes when he creates new recipes. So sorry you lost your notes! :(

I jot down notes in a notepad in the kitchen or on my iphone. Then I try to get my favorites posted on my blog asap. Sometimes it doesn’t go as planned though and I forget what I did. That makes me sad :(

I’m the worst when I’m actually knee-deep in ingredients and trying different things with the same recipe…post its, dry erase board, heck, I’ve even just gone the lazy way and used the voice recorder on my phone. But once I have something I KNOW is going to work, I quickly write out all the ingredients (before I forget….I swear I’m 27 going on 88!) and then once I upload the recipe into Recipage, I’m done! Love that site…it’s helped me SO much with my organization! Now, if I could just get the motivation to upload all my old recipes! Lol

I use a loose leaf binder that I keep in a kitchen drawer. As I get a new recipe whether it’s one that I print online or one that I tear from a package, I use my hole punch to put it in the binder. I have some page inserts for smaller recipes to fit in. I don’t have it indexed, but I know where things are from use. I have main dishes near front, veggies next, desserts and treats at the end, etc.
