After my PT appointment I hightailed it to the nearest book store for a second breakfast and a table to get some work done.
I had a cinnamon scone and an iced soy latte complements of my Barnes & Noble giftcard- yay!
I’ve never actually had a scone before. It was alright, but I’m not really sure what the big fuss is? It was kind of like a dry cookie or stale muffin….I like the cinnamon chunks though.
PT was a bit disappointing again. To tell you the truth, I was really optimistic after the first appointment, but it’s kind of gone downhill from there. All I do is elliptical for 10 minutes and then foam roll. I’m pretty sure I can do that at home/at the gym without paying some whopping insurance bills.
Oh well, I guess I can take it as a sign that I’m not a complete hopeless mess? Although they do keep laughing at me that I won’t let go of the idea of a tri in less than 3 weeks…
On a more positive note, I did get my orthotics today. They’re pink.
(Hey if I have to have old-farty things in my shoes they might as well be cute. Even if no one knows but me. And you.;))
I still have yet to make up my mind how I feel about the idea, but I’m going to give them a fair shot before making a judgment. It’s supposed to take about 3 weeks before I can run in them, but we’ll see if I can’t get going a little sooner than that.
Moving on….
A couple of weeks ago I made chana masala for the first time- and loved it. I’d never had it before so I had nothing to compare it to. When I saw frozen Kashi meals on super sale at the grocery store last week, I had to pick up a few for emergencies.
Today wasn’t really a meal-emergency, but one of the flavors I got was Veggie Chana Masala and I really wanted to try it!!
Verdict? Oh-so-good!!! Kashi meals are a little pricey for normal consumption, but they sure do a good job with the flavors and ingredients. I think I did a good job on my recipe- it tasted very similar. I loved the addition of the veggie chunks- definitely need to remember that for next time around!
Now if only the weather could figure out what it’s doing so I can decide when the best time to go for a bike ride is…

I feel you on PT. It was like that for awhile when I was injured, but they just want to be cautious. I think they are a little too cautious, but you might want to stick it out a little longer and see what happens.
Sorry about the PT bb, but you are doing the right things, I know it and I’m sorry it seems like forever.
Scone is totally like a stale cookie, lol – never thought of that.
Sending you good recovery vibes. Show that foam roller whats up!
I totally agree about scones…I have never liked them because they do taste like stale bread. Not a fan!
Sorry about PT…that is werid to me that you never get any massage or anything?
I know…I think I might ask for one next time hahaa
And by ask I mean beg
I was totally skeptical of my orthodics too, but they really helped me with my knee pain when I ran! And mine weren’t even cool looking
My freezer is holding some TJs Chana Masala right now so I’m excited to see you’ve liked it…I haven’t tried it yet, but now I’m excited!
Sorry about the PT. I felt the same way when I went to one recently. Haven’t gone back actually, though I should. Just felt like it was kind of a waste of time. Hopefully yours will get better.
Good tip on the Kashi. Always been curious about them.
