My “Something Exciting Is Coming” badge has magically transformed into a second-by-second countdown by some code-writing hocus pocus unbeknownst to my humble skill set. Sooo what’s it counting down to?
Opening Day of my OpenSky shop!!
What’s OpenSky? Maybe you’ve heard of them; maybe you haven’t:
OpenSky is a company that thinks less like a company and more like you & me. They’re a community- one that is passionate about people and the products people love. They love the idea of buying from someone you “know” – It’s such a better experience than blindly clicking “buy” and hoping for the best.
Plus, they have cocktail parties a lot and seem like a pretty cool gang to hang with. Too bad the trip to NYC is a little longer than an after-work commute! 
Now, I’m not a hop-on-the-bandwagon kinda gal, but when the bandwagon’s going somewhere good, I’m definitely catching a ride & opening up shop.
Just so you’re fully aware, OpenSky spilts their profits with the seller, so I will make a commission if you buy something, but that’s not the driving force. The point isn’t to get rich – the point is to facilitate conversations like this:
Hey Heather, that’s a rockin’ grill contraption you have there for your peppers. Where in the world can I snag one of those?!
or
That’s some snazzy blue tape you have on your leg, can you hook me up getting some?
Instead of getting the guts up to email me about it, waiting for me to get back you, then hunting it down on your own, all you have to is go to my shop and find it. Within seconds you’ll be able to check the product out, see who makes it, and see how much it costs. All that’s left for you to do is decide whether you want to buy it or not.
(And just FYI, OpenSky does their best to offer Amazon-like prices, and offers no hazzle returns for 365 days.)
To make it even better, I’ll be working with the team to arrange coupons, discounts, & promotions so you can get things at an even better price. It’s win-win for everyone!
Here’s my wholehearted promise to you:
I will not put everything under the sun in my shop just because I can. I will only put products in there that I love and use at least weekly, if not daily. (No $20 nut butters in my shop, simply because I don’t use them. But if you want them, I’ll be glad to point you towards a shopkeeper who does!)
If OpenSky is community you’d like to be involved in, be sure to check them out from both sides- you can be a seller, like me, or if you have a cool product, you can be a supplier! I’m guessing you probably know about something cool that I’d love to have.
I can’t wait to show you all what’s in my shop! But for now, you’ll have to sit tight until August 10- the big launch day!!!
