Girls Weekend Ends

by Heather

Don’t miss the first two days of girls weekend in Alabama!

Monday morning we took our time waking up and decided to go for a run around Keri’s neighborhood. We started out running & chatting for about the first 3 miles, then it turned into walking and chatting for the last two. ;)

After much needed showers, we headed to lunch at a the cutest little local kitchen called Lyn’s Gracious Goodness.

I love all the bright colors- this place was so cute & homey!

We shared a bottle of wine. (What’s girls weekend without wine?!)

For lunch I got talked into a mozzarella, tomato, and basil panini.  I haven’t been eating cheese recently, and was hesitant to start now, but all of the glowing reviews made me decide to go for. (Especially after they said they could put in sundried tomatoes instead of raw tomatoes- my hatred of them might have come up in the conversion…;))

I did not regret that decision- it seems simple, but this is definitely one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. It just goes to show how delicious simple ingredients can be. It also came with a single slice of bread and butter pickle that was just to die for. I never thought I’d say that about a pickle, but goodness!

We ended our visit the same way we started it: with cupcakes!!

This time we went to a bakery called Gigi’s Cupcakes.

I kid you not, the icing on the cupcakes was probably 6 inches tall.

I got a “Princess Cupcake”- strawberry cake with cream cheese icing.

Yummmmm. :)

Such a great weekend with good friends & good food!!

What a fun time! Girl Time is the best. And of course alcohol should be involved. ;)

I love the paint colors in that cafe–so cheerful! It would make me happy just sitting there.
